Do you need a refresher on the legal rules that govern what your 501(c)(4) can do this election season? With the risks of a challenging season ahead, it’s critical for 501(c)(4) organizational leaders to be equipped with the latest best practices. Participants will learn how to maintain their entities' tax-exempt status while engaging in primary-purpose activity, issue advocacy, unlimited lobbying, and—to a limited extent—express advocacy. In addition, we will lightly cover some recent changes to laws in certain states concerning reporting requirements, solicitation notices, and paid political advertising disclaimers, including those triggered by Arizona's new requirements under the Voter’s Right to Know Act. Join New Left Accelerator and The Capacity Shop to learn the ins and outs of public communications that promote each of these categories and how they are treated by election law enforcement agencies. This is a re-run of our previous “501(c)(4)s & Elections” training, but repeat attendees are welcome to join for a refresher!
